This Frankford Arsenal aluminum collet set gives you a fresh three-piece lineup for the Quick-N-EZ Impact Bullet Puller, machined from aluminum and paired with rubber O-rings that hold everything snug around the case. Whether you're correcting a bad charge, salvaging components from surplus ammo, or breaking down rounds of unknown pedigree, these collets grip the case rim and let the puller do the rest.
The set includes three different sizes, marked by their grooves so you can tell them apart at a glance. The 1-groove collet handles smaller stuff like .17 Remington, .22 Hornet, .223 Remington, .30 Carbine, 9mm Luger, .40 S&W, and 10mm. The 2-groove collet takes on the middle of the pack, covering .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .25-06, .270 Win, .30-06, .308 Win, and .45 ACP among others. The no-groove collet grabs the big-case rounds such as 7mm Rem Mag, .300 Win Mag, .338 Win Mag, .444 Marlin, and .45-70 Government. Between the three, you're set from roughly .17 caliber up through the .50-70, rimmed or rimless.
Setup is about as simple as it gets. Set the assembled collet on a flat surface, then roll the rubber O-ring over the top and down into the groove to seat it. Drop the collet into the puller body, snug the cap, and give it a firm whack against something solid to knock the bullet loose. These are genuine Frankford Arsenal replacement parts, so they drop right into the factory puller body without any fuss.
It's also worth knowing these collets play nice with other kinetic-style pullers on the market, including Hornady and RCBS designs, which makes this set a handy spare to keep in the loading room even if your puller wears a different name.
They're made for the Frankford Arsenal Quick-N-EZ Impact Bullet Puller and drop straight into the factory puller body. Many reloaders also use them in other kinetic-style pullers such as Hornady and RCBS models, since the design is similar. If you've got the Frankford puller, these are the direct factory replacement.
The collets are identified by their grooves. The 1-groove handles smaller cartridges like .22 Hornet, .223, and most pistol rounds, the 2-groove covers the mid-range like .30-06 and .308, and the no-groove tackles the big magnums and rounds up to .45-70. Between the three you're covered from roughly .17 caliber through the .50-70.
Set the collet on a flat surface, then roll the rubber O-ring over the top and down into the groove to seat it. Place the collet in the puller body, tighten the cap, and you're ready to pull. It takes just a few seconds once you've done it once.
