A good sling can make or break a long day in the field, and the Allen Denali is built to earn its keep. The wide neoprene shoulder pad has a bit of natural stretch to it, which soaks up the bounce and shock of a heavy rifle as you hike. That flex is what separates a comfortable neoprene sling from a plain nylon strap that digs into your shoulder after the first mile. It adjusts from 22 inches out to 42 inches, so whether you like your rifle riding high and tight or slung lower for a relaxed carry, you can dial it in.
The standout feature here is the row of five cartridge loops stitched right into the strap. Instead of digging spare rounds out of a jacket pocket every time you get set up, they sit organized and easy to reach on the sling itself. It is a genuinely handy setup for still hunters, predator callers, or anyone who might get a follow-up shot and wants ammo within a hand's reach. The loops handle a wide range of common big game rounds, roughly the .223 up through .300 Win Mag neighborhood.
The back side of the pad uses Allen's slip-proof Sharkskin material, and it does exactly what the name suggests. It grips your clothing so the sling stays put on your shoulder while you walk, climb, and twist through cover instead of sliding off at the worst moment. Pair that grip with the neoprene cushioning and you get a strap that stays where you put it and feels good doing it.
The Denali comes with its own swivels, so you can mount it to a rifle fitted with standard swivel studs and be ready to go. The swivels are tested to hold up under real weight, giving you peace of mind carrying a full-size hunting rifle over uneven ground. It is a straightforward, practical piece of gear that covers comfort and ammo storage in one simple package.
The five cartridge loops are made to fit most standard big game rounds, roughly from .223 up through .300 Win Mag. That covers the bulk of popular deer and elk calibers. If you shoot something on the larger magnum end, it is worth checking your specific round against the loop size before you count on it.
The swivels are included in the box, so you are ready to mount it right away. They attach to standard rifle swivel studs, which most modern hunting rifles already have. If your rifle does not have studs installed, you would need to add those first.
That is the whole point of the Sharkskin material. It grips your clothing so the strap stays planted while you walk, climb, and move through cover. Combined with the neoprene stretch, it does a solid job of keeping a heavy rifle riding steady instead of slipping down your arm.
The wide neoprene pad has natural give to it, which absorbs the bounce and shock you feel carrying a full-size rifle over distance. That flex is what makes it more comfortable than a flat nylon strap on long walks. It adjusts across a wide length range too, so you can set the carry position that feels best on your shoulder.
