The Allen Glenwood is one of those slings that does exactly what you want and gets out of the way. It's built for hunters and range folks who'd rather carry a rifle or shotgun all day than fuss over a heavy, bulky strap. The molded foam pad measures 15 inches and spreads the weight of a loaded long gun across your shoulder, so a morning of walking timber or a long hike into the backcountry doesn't leave you sore.
The standout here is the textured backing on the pad. That grippy surface stays put against your shoulder instead of sliding off every time you reach for a trail marker or duck under a branch. Paired with the low-density foam, you get a sling that feels barely there but still carries the load like it should. The Mossy Oak Break-Up Country pattern with black trim blends into hardwoods and brush, which is a nice touch if you're already running camo on your setup.
Every Glenwood ships with a set of Allen Magnum swivels, tested to hold 300 pounds. That's plenty of margin for any rifle or shotgun you'd realistically hang from it, and it means you don't need to buy hardware separately to get shooting. The nylon webbing adjusts out to 38 inches at full length, so you can dial it in whether you're wearing a t-shirt in September or layered up in December. Installation is straightforward with the locking-screw style swivels, and once they're snugged down they stay locked.
Bottom line, the Glenwood is a dependable everyday sling that punches above its weight class. It's light, it's comfortable, and it comes ready to run. For hunters who want a comfortable carry without adding bulk to an already-loaded rig, this one earns its spot.
Yes, it ships with a pair of Allen Magnum swivels that are tested to hold 300 pounds. That covers any rifle or shotgun you'd realistically carry with it, so you don't need to source hardware separately. Just install them on your firearm's swivel studs and you're ready to go.
It does. The Glenwood is designed as an all-around long gun sling and the included swivels attach to standard swivel studs found on most rifles and shotguns. As long as your gun has swivel studs installed, this sling will mount up.
The nylon webbing adjusts out to 38 inches at full extension, giving you room to fine-tune the fit. That lets you shorten it for a snug carry or lengthen it to clear heavier layers in cold weather. The 15-inch foam pad stays centered on your shoulder through the range of adjustment.
The low-density molded foam pad is built to spread the weight of a loaded long gun without adding bulk. The textured back also grips your shoulder so the sling doesn't slide off as you walk. Users consistently note it stays put and stays comfortable through long days in the field.
