The Allen 5201 Helix Bipod is built for the classic hunting setup, clamping right onto your rifle's front swivel stud with no rails or extra hardware needed. It leans on a blend of aircraft-grade aluminum and reinforced polymer, so you get real toughness without lugging around a heavy chunk of metal. For a walk-and-stalk hunter or anyone who wants a steady rest without adding bulk up front, that lightweight profile makes a noticeable difference by the end of a long day.
The standout feature is the rapid-snap leg system. The legs deploy fast and lock into four height settings in one-inch steps, so dialing in your position over uneven ground or off a truck hood takes about a second. Pair that with the 180-degree ARC adjustment, which offers five leg positions that swing forward and back, and you can settle into everything from a low prone shot to an angled setup on a hillside. That flexibility is what separates a bipod you'll actually use from one that stays in the safe.
Allen wrapped the legs with silicone over-molding, giving you a tactile grip zone that stays put whether you're bare-handed or working in gloves in cold weather. Down at the ground, the booted feet are textured to bite into dirt, gravel, grass, or hard surfaces, keeping your rifle planted through the shot. Little touches like that add up when you're trying to hold a tight group.
This is a fresh addition to Allen's 2026 lineup, and the Helix name covers a full series with M-LOK, Picatinny, and stud-mount options. The 5201 is the traditional swivel-stud version, which makes it a straightforward upgrade for bolt guns, hunting rifles, and just about any setup running a front sling stud. Solid stability, quick deployment, and an easy install add up to a bipod that earns its spot on your rifle.
The 5201 model uses a swivel stud mount, so it clamps directly onto your rifle's front sling swivel stud. That makes it a good match for most bolt-action and hunting rifles that already run a front stud. No rails or extra adapters are needed for this version.
The rapid-snap legs extend across four height settings in one-inch increments, letting you dial in your position quickly. On top of that, the 180-degree ARC system gives you five leg positions front to back. Together they cover everything from a low prone shot to an angled setup on uneven ground.
No, it's built to stay light. Allen uses a mix of aircraft-grade aluminum and reinforced polymer, so you get solid durability without the weight penalty of an all-metal bipod. That's a plus if you're covering ground on foot during a hunt.
The Helix uses textured booted feet designed to grip dirt, gravel, grass, and hard surfaces. Combined with the silicone over-molded leg grips, it helps keep your rifle planted through the shot. It's a practical setup for both field conditions and the range.
