The Aimshot MBSKIT1 is built around a smart idea: instead of buying a separate bore sight for every rifle you own, you get one quality laser module and a set of arbors that adapt it to different chambers. The kit ships with the MBS223 red laser bore sight plus the AR243 and AR3006 arbors, which is enough coverage to knock out most of the calibers sitting in a typical gun cabinet. Drop the laser (or the laser inside an arbor) into the chamber, and it projects a dot straight down the centerline of your barrel so you can dial your reticle in close before heading to the range.
On its own, the MBS223 module handles .223 Remington and any 223-based cartridge. Slide it into the AR243 arbor and you're set for the 308 family, which includes .243 Winchester, 7mm-08, .260 Remington, .308/7.62×51, and .338 Federal. The AR3006 arbor opens up 30-06, .270, .280, .25-06, .300 Savage, and .35 Whelen. If you ever add a rifle in a caliber outside that spread, the module works with the rest of Aimshot's arbor lineup, so you just grab the sleeve you need instead of a whole new tool.
Everything that touches your chamber is solid brass, so there's no worry about scratching or marring the metal, and brass holds its dimensions better than plastic for a repeatably centered dot. Power is where this kit earns its keep. It runs on three L736 button cell batteries for quick closed-chamber work, or you can swap in the included external battery pack that takes 2 AAA batteries and stretches run time past 20 hours. That pack even has a small magnet to stick to your receiver while you work.
