When you drop real money on an Aimpoint CompM5s, the mount holding it matters just as much as the optic. Geissele built this Super Precision mount specifically for the CompM5s, and it's machined from a single piece of 7075-T6 high strength aluminum with a Type 3 hardcoat anodized finish. That one-piece construction is a big part of why these mounts hold zero the way they do, and the matte black finish keeps it low key on any build.
Instead of a basic clamp, Geissele uses their own update of the classic nut and bolt method, pulling the mount onto your Picatinny rail with around 1,400 pounds of clamping force. Three shear lugs sit underneath to carry the recoil load and lock everything in place, which is what gives this mount its reputation for maximum rigidity and dependable return to zero if you ever have to pull it off and remount it. At roughly 2.5 ounces, it adds almost nothing to the weight of your rifle while still feeling like a solid chunk of aluminum in hand.
The 1.93-inch measurement is the distance from the top of your rail to the centerline of the optic, and it sits taller than both absolute and lower 1/3 co-witness setups. The payoff is a more upright, heads-up shooting position. You bring the rifle up to your natural line of sight rather than dropping your head down into the stock, which a lot of folks find faster for target transitions and a whole lot more comfortable over a long day behind the gun. It also gives you breathing room for lasers, lights, magnifiers, and night vision crowding the top rail.
One thing worth knowing up front: a 1.93" mount will not co-witness with standard mil-spec AR iron sights. The irons sit below the optic window entirely. If backup iron co-witness is a priority, the absolute height version of this mount is the better call. For a dedicated red dot running heads-up, this height is tough to beat.

This Super Precision mount was designed specifically for the Aimpoint CompM5s and similarly mounted red dot optics. It will not fit the Micro T-1/T-2 or other footprints, so pair it with a CompM5s for the correct fit.
