The X2 recoil system works through both the stock pad and the textured pistol grip to absorb felt recoil and reduce muzzle lift. The cushioned grip has finger grooves molded in for secure purchase even when your hands aren't perfect, and the overall ergonomics feel more modern than what came on your rifle from the factory. You get four Picatinny rail sections to work with: one 4-inch rail, two 2-inch rails, plus a 2-inch section with integrated swivel stud. The ventilated handguards keep things cool during longer sessions, and blank rail inserts tidy things up when you're not using every slot. The adjustable cheekrest system is removable and gives you options if your shooting position changes or you want different heights. Everything's made from DuPont Extreme Temperature glass-reinforced polymer, meaning it stays flexible in temperature swings and won't react to chemicals.
Be realistic about fitting this to your specific AK. Most stamped-receiver models work with the kit, but AKs have enough manufacturing variation that minor modifications might be needed for perfect fitment. Some people gloss right through setup. Others spend 30 minutes to a couple hours filing or trimming pieces. Have basic tools on hand: a drill, file, and standard screwdrivers. This kit works with most stamped-receiver AK-47 models including WASR-10, Century RAS, and similar platforms, but won't fit milled receivers, under-folding stocks, or the M-70. Yes, the TactLite design allows you to fire from the folded position if needed. That said, you'll want the stock extended for any serious shooting because of ergonomics and proper sight alignment. The folding feature is more about portability and storage.
