Description

The Advantage Arms AAC19-23G5MOD lets you keep shooting the same Glock you carry and practice with while spending a fraction of what centerfire ammo costs. It swaps the top end of your Glock 19 or 23 Gen 5 over to .22 LR, so your grip, trigger, and controls all stay exactly where your hands already know them. That is the whole point of a rimfire conversion: more trigger time, more reps, and a lot less money going downrange.

What the MOD in AAC19-23G5MOD Gets You

This is the loaded version of the kit. You get a 4.02-inch threaded barrel that's ready for a .22 can if you run one, plus an optics-ready slide with a recessed cut that accepts common red dot footprints using Glock MOS-style adapter plates. The plates and the red dot aren't in the box, so plan on sourcing those separately if you want to run glass. Two 15-round magazines and a padded range bag round out the package, which is a nice touch for a kit that's built to live in your gear bag anyway.

Feeding Your Glock 19/23 Gen 5 Conversion

Rimfire is picky by nature, and this kit is happiest on high-velocity, copper-plated ammo. CCI Mini Mags in the 40-grain round nose are the gold standard here and shooters consistently report near-flawless runs with them. Remington Golden Bullets and Federal Auto Match also see plenty of use. Steer clear of hyper-velocity loads like CCI Stingers and stay away from Remington Thunderbolts. Keep it lubed at the rails and it'll reward you with a smoother break-in and better cycling over a long session.

Setup and Real-World Use

Installation is about as simple as it gets. Pull your factory slide and mag, slide the Advantage Arms upper onto your stock frame, drop in a conversion mag, and you're shooting, usually in well under a minute. The magazines are proprietary to the kit and won't swap with your 9mm Glock mags, so grab spares if you like fewer reloads. Owners routinely mention the slide locking back on the last round and steel-ringing accuracy out to 25 or 30 yards once broken in. It's a great way to bring new folks into shooting and to bank cheap repetitions on a pistol you already trust.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the AAC19-23G5MOD fit any Glock, or just the 19 and 23?

This kit is built specifically for the Glock 19 and 23 Gen 5 frames. It's meant to run on a factory-stock Glock frame, and aftermarket trigger bars or connectors can affect reliability. If you've got a different generation or model, Advantage Arms makes separate kits sized for those frames.

What ammo runs best in the Advantage Arms .22 conversion kit?

High-velocity, copper-plated .22 LR is the way to go, and CCI Mini Mag 40-grain round nose is the crowd favorite for a reason. Remington Golden Bullets and Federal Auto Match are common choices too. Avoid hyper-velocity loads like CCI Stingers and skip Remington Thunderbolts, and keep the kit lubed for the smoothest cycling.

Can I mount a red dot on this MOD kit?

Yes, the MOD slide has a recessed optic cut that works with Glock MOS-style adapter plates for a range of common red dot footprints. Keep in mind the adapter plates and the optic itself are not included, so you'll want to pick those up separately. The threaded 4.02-inch barrel also lets you add a .22 suppressor if you run one.

How hard is it to install the conversion kit?

It's genuinely quick and requires no tools or gunsmithing. You remove your factory slide and magazine, slide the Advantage Arms upper onto your stock frame until it locks in, insert a conversion mag, and you're ready to shoot. With a little practice the swap takes under a minute.
