It swaps onto your existing Gen 1-3 Glock 17 or 22 frame and turns it into a .22 LR pistol, so you keep the exact same grip, trigger feel, and controls you already train with. The kit comes with a 4.49-inch barrel, two 10-round magazines, and a range bag to carry it all.
The whole point here is cheap, repeatable practice on the platform you already carry or compete with. You pull your factory slide and drop the Advantage Arms slide on in place of it, a swap that takes only a few seconds once you get the hang of it. Muscle memory stays intact because nothing about your frame changes, and .22 LR runs a fraction of the cost of 9mm, so the kit tends to pay for itself pretty quickly if you shoot often. It's also a great way to bring new or younger shooters up to speed on a soft-shooting rimfire before stepping up to centerfire.
The MOD series slide has a recessed cut milled to accept a variety of red dot optics, so you can run this as an optics trainer as well. It ships with fixed Glock-style sights and includes last-round-lock-open, so the slide holds back on an empty mag just like your carry gun. The red dot and pistol frame are not included.
Like most rimfire conversions, this one runs best on high-velocity ammo. Advantage Arms recommends sticking with high-velocity loads and steering clear of hyper-velocity rounds like Stingers. CCI Mini-Mags and Remington Golden Bullets are longtime favorites that tend to cycle cleanly. Keep it lubed and wipe it down when it gets dirty, and it'll stay reliable through plenty of range sessions. A stock trigger setup helps too, since some aftermarket connectors can affect cycling.

Once you're familiar with it, the swap takes only a few seconds. You remove your factory magazine and slide the same way you would for a normal takedown, then slide the Advantage Arms unit on until it locks. Just take care to align it correctly, since the aluminum slide can feel a little grabby until it's broken in and lubed.
