The integrated light runs on two AA batteries with a run time of up to three hours on constant mode, so there is no proprietary battery to hunt down. This version fits Mossberg 500, 590, 590A1, 535, and 835 pump shotguns, and it is built for owner installation with basic tools. The Maverick 88 will work with this forend, but because of how its action bars are set up, that model needs a separate forend slide assembly from Mossberg to run it. Worth noting up front, it does not fit the Mossberg Shockwave.

It will work on the Maverick 88, but not right out of the box. Because of how the Maverick's action bars are built, you'll need to add a separate forend slide assembly from Mossberg to run it. The forend itself replaces only the forend, not the full action bar setup, which is why that extra part is needed.
