When you're firing a .50 BMG or a heavy extreme-long-range rifle, a standard bipod just won't cut it. The Accu-Tac HD-50 is the company's most overbuilt design, machined from 100% billet 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum with high-strength steel hardware. Everything about it is beefed up to soak the punishment those calibers dish out, from the enlarged arm lock lugs to the wide center hub that gives the whole platform its planted, no-wobble feel. It carries a Type III Mil-Spec hard anodized finish in flat black and is designed and built in the USA.
The wider-than-usual center hub is the star here. It spreads the load and adds real rigidity, which matters a lot when a heavy rifle is trying to buck under recoil. Each leg adjusts independently through nine height notches, so you can get level and steady on uneven ground, rocks, or an awkward berm. Legs lock either straight down at 90 degrees or forward in the stowed position, and the vertical range runs from 7 to 10 inches with a wide stance that keeps the rifle honest between shots.
The HD-50 cants using a sturdy throw lever, and that lever does double duty. You can dial in the tension you like, lock the cant motion down solid, or back it off and reposition it to tuck out of the way. Getting it on and off the gun is fast too, thanks to the Picatinny quick-detach mount that clamps onto a 1913 rail without any tools.
