The Redding Type S Bushing Full Length Sizing Die takes care of two jobs in one pull of the handle. It sizes the case body and bumps the shoulder like any good full length die, but the real draw is the interchangeable neck bushing system that puts you in charge of exactly how much the neck gets squeezed. For anyone loading 308 Winchester for precision work, that kind of control over neck tension is what separates good brass from great brass.
Instead of forcing every case through a fixed-diameter neck, this die uses a removable bushing that you select based on your brass and the neck tension you're after. Bushings come in .001 inch increments and are sold separately, so you can fine-tune to your exact load. Because the bushing is free to self-center on the case neck as it enters the die, you get noticeably better concentricity and far less of the overworking that leads to case stretch and early work hardening.
