The Redding Type S-Match Bushing Full Length Die Set in 30 Nosler pairs two of Redding's best dies into one package built for the handloader who chases tight groups. This is the same die family that competitive shooters lean on when they need precision ammo that still feeds and chambers without a fight. For a big, overbore cartridge like the 30 Nosler, having real control over your sizing and seating makes a noticeable difference downrange.
The star of the set is the Type S Bushing Full Length Sizing Die. It sizes the case body and bumps the shoulder back while the interchangeable bushing handles the neck, so you dial in exactly the neck tension you want. Bushings come in .001 inch increments, which lets you match your sizing to your specific brass and how you plan to run the ammo, whether that's single feeding in a bolt gun or loading from the magazine. The adjustable decapping rod even lets you partial neck size when you only want to touch part of the neck length, and the bushing self-centers on the case neck to help keep runout down.
The second die is Redding's Competition Bullet Seating Die, and it's a favorite for good reason. A micrometer-calibrated adjustment lets you make precise seating depth changes in repeatable increments, and the floating seating sleeve aligns the bullet and case before the bullet ever moves. The result is excellent concentricity and consistent cartridge overall length load after load. It ships with a standard seating stem that works with most bullet shapes, and VLD-style stems are available separately if you're running those long sleek projectiles.
Redding dies are machined on precision lathes and heat treated for a lifetime of use, and this 30 Nosler set is no exception. Keep in mind the set does not include bushings or a shell holder, so you'll want to grab the correct bushings for your brass along with a #38 shell holder to complete your setup.
No, the set ships without neck bushings so you can choose the exact size for your brass. Bushings are available separately in .001 inch increments. To find your size, measure the outside diameter of a loaded case neck and subtract the neck tension you want, usually .001 to .003 inch depending on how you feed your rifle.
The 30 Nosler uses a #38 shell holder, which also fits cartridges like the 26, 27, and 28 Nosler and the 300 RUM. A shell holder is not included with this die set, so plan to pick one up if you don't already have it.
Yes. By removing the bushing and the internal parts, the Type S full bushing sizing die can function as a body die. That gives you a bit of extra flexibility if you want to size the body and bump the shoulder without touching the neck.
The die ships with a standard seating stem that handles most common bullet profiles well. If you're loading VLD-style bullets with their long, pointed ogives, Redding offers a dedicated VLD seating stem separately for a better fit. The die should not be used for compressed loads.
