The RCBS MatchMaster 3-Way Cutter Head with .24 Cal Pilot is a drop-in accessory for the MatchMaster Precision Case Trimmer, and it shows up ready to run for 6mm brass right out of the package. The 3-way design means one motion handles three jobs: it trims the case to length, chamfers the inside of the mouth, and deburrs the outside edge, all in a single pass. That one-and-done approach is a big part of why the MatchMaster has become a favorite for folks who prep brass in volume and want every case to come off the machine the same.
The pilot on this head runs about .239" in outside diameter, which places it squarely in the 6mm family. Think 6mm Creedmoor, .243 Winchester, and 6mm ARC among others. The pilot slides freely into the case neck and self-centers the brass on the cutter axis, so you get square, concentric case mouths that help with consistent neck tension down the line. The carbide blades are adjustable, giving you fine control over how aggressively the head chamfers and deburrs.
Swapping calibers is where a dedicated head really earns its keep. Instead of fiddling with settings when you jump from one cartridge to another, you keep a cutter head set up for each caliber and simply change it out. That cuts your changeover time way down and keeps your dial-in work from one session to the next. For anyone loading multiple 6mm rounds or running a mixed bench, having a .24 caliber head ready to go is a genuine time-saver.
One thing worth knowing: these MatchMaster cutter heads and pilots are a unique, newer design. They are made specifically for the MatchMaster trimmer and are not cross-compatible with the older Trim Pro series or other RCBS trimmers, so make sure the MatchMaster is the machine on your bench before adding this to the cart.
