The 4140 steel slide wears a durable parkerized finish and features a removable top plate, so you can add an ATI optic mount and run a red dot without sending the slide off for machining. Sight cuts accept Glock pattern front and rear sights, which opens up a huge aftermarket if you want night sights down the road. Up front there's an accessory rail for a light or laser, and the trigger guard is oversized and undercut so you can get a higher grip on the gun, gloves or not. This version pairs a Flat Dark Earth frame with the black slide and black grips for a sharp two tone look.
The molded frame includes finger grooves on the front strap and an extended beavertail, and together they push your hand up high and tight where a .45 likes to be held. Yes. The slide has a removable top plate in front of the rear sight that accepts an ATI optic mount for red dot sights. Keep in mind the mount itself is sold separately, so plan on picking one up if you want to run an optic.
It ships with fixed white 3-dot sights, and the slide is cut for Glock pattern front and rear sights rather than traditional 1911 dovetails. That means you can swap in aftermarket night sights or fiber optics made for most standard Glock models, which is a massive selection to choose from.
The hybrid polymer frame brings the Moxie in around 31 ounces empty, which is roughly 7 to 10 ounces lighter than a typical all steel government model with the same 5 inch barrel. The two metal inserts molded into the frame keep the slide running on steel rails, so you get the weight savings without the slide wearing on polymer.
