Grapefruit Pink is one of those tints that clay shooters swear by, and it's easy to see why once you clip a pair on. This enhanced pink lens runs around 35% light transmission and is tuned to make orange targets pop against green foliage, which is exactly the situation you're in on most sporting clays courses. It's built for medium-light conditions, so overcast mornings and dappled tree lines are right in its wheelhouse. The proprietary blue-blocking treatment also helps cut eye fatigue when you're running station after station.
The lens itself is a 1-piece polycarbonate wrap-around that's digitally surfaced to knock out the distortion, starbursts, and halos you get from cheaper safety glasses. That decentered, optically correct design keeps the center of the lens lined up with your pupils, so you get sharper edges, better peripheral vision, and cleaner contrast. All lenses are rated 100% UVA and UVB, and the whole package exceeds ANSI Z87.1+2015, which is the real deal when it comes to impact protection.
The frame is a sleek TR90 nylon build that SSP calls infrangible, meaning it takes abuse and keeps its shape. It's light, matte to kill glare, and shaped to sit at three points of contact so you don't get pressure points during long days. There's a clear adjustable full-floating nose piece that fits a wide range of face and nose shapes, and it's worth taking a minute to dial it in for your face. The frame is also RX-able, so if you wear a prescription you can add the Methow adapter down the road.
Everything tucks into the X-Heavy Duty crush-proof, waterproof case that has room for molded earplugs, a hidden compartment for a phone-locating tag, and space to store extra lenses if you build out your collection later. It's a solid setup whether you're at the trap line, walking a course, or just want serious eye protection for yard work and time outdoors.
It's tuned for medium-light conditions and runs about 35% light transmission. The tint is designed to make orange targets stand out against green backgrounds, so it shines on sporting clays courses with lots of foliage. Overcast days and shaded tree lines are right in its comfort zone.
Yes. The Methow frame is RX-able and accepts a TR90 RX adapter that mounts inside the frame. That adapter is sold separately, but it lets you keep your prescription behind the same protective wrap-around lens.
They are. The Methow exceeds the ANSI Z87.1+2015 standard, which covers high-velocity impact, so this is genuine safety eyewear and not just a tinted sport lens. The 1-piece polycarbonate lens and infrangible TR90 frame back that up.
Absolutely. The Methow is built around an interchangeable lens system, and SSP offers a range of HD replacement lenses in different tints. The included XHD case even has room to store extra lenses so you can swap for different light conditions.
