This is EGW's one-piece Picatinny rail for the large ring Mauser 98, the three-hole military pattern with the stripper clip hump. It ships undrilled, which is the whole point. Instead of forcing a factory hole spacing onto a receiver that may have been sporterized or drilled at some point in its long life, you or your gunsmith lay out the holes to match what's already on your action. That flexibility matters on surplus Mausers, since no two conversions are ever quite the same.
The base is cut from domestic 6061 T6 extruded aluminum and finished in matte black Type II anodizing, so it shrugs off handling and weather without drawing attention in the field. The 20 MOA built-in slope tilts the optic forward, giving you extra internal elevation adjustment for stretching a scope out to longer ranges. At roughly 6.67 inches long with cross slots running the full length of the rail, you get plenty of room to slide rings fore and aft and dial in your eye relief exactly where you want it.
A relieved channel runs down the center of the rail, which trims weight and in many cases clears the way for factory iron sights underneath. It accepts any standard Picatinny or Weaver rings, so you're not locked into a proprietary setup.
