Bare M-LOK rail slots have a way of chewing up your hands and roasting your palm after a few magazines. The VZ Hydra 3-Slot M-LOK Panel fixes both problems at once, covering three slots of exposed rail with a slab of solid G10 that grips like it means it. VZ builds these from the same proprietary composite as their pistol grips, so the fit and finish carry over from your handgun to your rifle build.
The Hydra pattern is named for its flowing, wave-like ridges, and it sits on the more aggressive end of VZ's texture lineup. That means real bite when your hands are wet, gloved, or just sweaty from a long range day. It gives your support hand a consistent index point without shredding your skin, which strikes a nice balance between traction and comfort you can run all afternoon.
G10 is a layered composite that happens to be an excellent insulator, so this panel does double duty by shielding your palm from the heat that builds up in a handguard during rapid fire. It shrugs off recoil, weather, and general abuse without adding meaningful weight to your setup. Each panel is CNC machined from a solid piece and made in the USA, so you are getting a part built to last rather than a molded polymer afterthought.
This panel measures roughly 4.72 inches long and 0.6 inches wide, covering three M-LOK slots on any standard M-LOK handguard. It bolts on using the M-LOK cammed T-nut system, so installation is straightforward with the hardware your rail already uses. If you run VZ grips on your pistol or AR, matching the Hydra texture across your firearms gives you the same feel in hand no matter what you pick up.
It fits any standard M-LOK handguard using the M-LOK cammed T-nut system, so it works across popular rails from brands like Aero Precision, Magpul, BCM, Midwest Industries, and Daniel Defense. The panel covers three slots and measures about 4.72 inches long. As long as your rail is true M-LOK spec, you are good to go.
The Hydra sits toward the aggressive side of VZ's lineup, rated around a 4 out of 5 for bite. The wavy pattern gives you strong traction when your hands are wet or gloved while staying comfortable enough for long sessions. If you want the most aggressive option VZ offers, that would be their Stipple texture instead.
Yes. G10 is a layered composite that works as a natural insulator, so the panel shields your support hand from the heat that builds up in a handguard during rapid or sustained fire. That is one of the main reasons folks run rail covers on exposed sections in the first place.
You can. VZ offers the Hydra texture on their AR grips, hand stops, and 1911 pistol grips, so you can build a consistent feel across your rifle and sidearm. Matching textures gives you the same index and tactile response no matter which firearm you pick up.
