These Otis AK Platform Soft Vise Jaws solve both problems at once. They're made from a non-slip rubber that's soft enough it won't mar or scratch gun metal, yet firm enough to keep even small parts clamped without wandering. The rubber also shrugs off oil, solvents, and alcohol, so a quick wipe gets them clean and ready for the next job.
Unlike a flat or general-purpose set, these were shaped specifically for the AKM pattern, which is the most common AK style out there. The jaws feature detailed contouring and rivet holes that cradle the receiver so it sits securely instead of rocking. There's also a barrel bracket cutout sized to fit the factory locking lug or any aftermarket barrel bracket up to .400 inches thick. That contoured fit is what lets you get real work done without fighting the setup. Worth noting: because of that dedicated contouring and rivet layout, they aren't made to fit RPK-pattern rifles.
