The KICK-EEZ All Purpose Recoil Pad gives you the shock absorption you need without the hassle of switching between pads for different shooting applications. Constructed from Sorbothane, a visco-elastic polymer that outperforms standard rubber, this pad absorbs and disperses recoil energy more effectively than materials that harden, crack, or bottom out over time. That means less shoulder punishment whether you're running a box of shells or putting in a full day at the range.
This medium-sized pad measures 5 1/4 inches long by 1 7/8 inches wide with a 15/16 inch thickness, sitting in the sweet spot for most shotguns and rifles. The flat design works universally across shooting disciplines, and the 3 1/8 inch hole spacing gives you flexibility when fitting to different stocks. You're not locked into pre-fit hassles or dimensional surprises. Grind-to-fit pads let you customize the fit exactly how you need it, and Sorbothane doesn't have the hollow spots or metal plates that make grinding a nightmare.
The Sorbothane material won't bottom out even after extensive use, keeping your recoil reduction consistent whether you're at round 50 or round 5,000. Cleaning is straightforward too, just a damp cloth wipes away mud, sweat, and grime. Reviews from competitive and hunting shooters consistently report significant reductions in felt recoil and shoulder fatigue, with the pad holding up through multiple seasons of heavy use.
Following KICK-EEZ's straightforward grinding instructions, you can fit this pad to your stock using standard sanding equipment. The Sorbothane grinds more predictably than rubber, and there's no hidden hardware to worry about. Start with 80-100 grit sandpaper, finish with 220 grit, and you'll have a clean install that actually looks professional.
You'll need basic woodworking tools: a drill, saw, and a belt or disc sander. KICK-EEZ provides detailed grinding instructions, and many shooters use a recoil pad grinding jig to ensure proper angles. Synthetic stocks may require professional installation by a gunsmith.
Yes, the flat design makes it suitable for all shooting applications including field, trap, skeet, sporting clays, and rifles. However, your specific stock dimensions and screw hole spacing need to match or allow new holes to be drilled.
Sorbothane doesn't harden or crack over time like rubber pads do. It maintains its shock absorption properties through thousands of rounds and multiple seasons. Users report consistent recoil reduction without the material degrading, though any pad will eventually wear from extended use.
Yes, the 15/16 inch thickness will add to your current length of pull. If you need to preserve the original LOP, you can account for this during installation by adjusting how much stock you cut off, or use spacers to fine-tune the fit.
