Stick with standard loads and this revolver will run happily for years.

Like any traditional 1873 pattern single action, cartridges load one at a time through the loading gate on the right side of the frame. Spent cases are pushed out with the spring-loaded ejector rod that rides under the barrel. It's a slower process than a swing-out cylinder, but it's part of the charm of shooting a classic six-gun.
The scrollwork is cut into the metal on the frame, cylinder, and barrel, not a decal or surface print. The cowhide pattern on the walnut grip is engraved as well. It gives the revolver a presentation-grade look at a working-gun price point.
