There is nothing else on the market quite like the Trailblazer LifeCard. Fold it closed and you are holding something about the size of a short stack of credit cards, just 3.375 inches long, 2.125 inches tall, and a half inch thick. Press the release, swing the handle open, and you have a functional single-shot .22 LR pistol with a surprisingly usable full-size grip. This LC1-P version pairs a lightweight polymer handle in Sniper Grey with a 4140 pre-hardened steel barrel, bolt, and trigger wearing a black Isonite finish that shrugs off moisture and wear.
Operation is simple by design. Unfold the handle, tip the barrel open, drop in a round, close it up, cock the bolt, and you are ready. The whole thing is completely ambidextrous, and the smooth, snag-free shape slides in and out of a pocket without hanging up on anything. A key part of the design is that the LifeCard cannot fire when folded, so it stays inert until you deliberately deploy it. The handle also doubles as storage, holding four extra .22 LR rounds so your reloads travel with the gun.
This is a specialty pistol with a clear purpose: being the gun that is always with you when a full-size handgun is not practical. Owners tuck them into tackle boxes, hiking packs, glove boxes, and kit bags because at roughly 7 ounces you genuinely forget it is there. It is also just a fun little conversation piece at the range, and .22 LR keeps practice cheap and recoil basically nonexistent.
Trailblazer Firearms builds the LifeCard in the USA around its own patented folding design, and stands behind it with a lifetime warranty. If you have been looking for the most compact way to keep a rimfire pistol on hand, this is the one that started the whole category.
No. The LifeCard is designed so it cannot be made to fire when folded. The trigger is fully enclosed in the closed position, and the pistol only becomes operable once the handle is unfolded and the bolt is manually cocked. That is a big part of why it works so well for pocket and pack carry.
It uses a simple tip-up break action. Unfold the handle, open the barrel, load a single .22 LR round, close the barrel, then pull the bolt back to cock it before firing. After the shot, you open the barrel again to extract the spent case and reload. The handle stores four extra rounds so spares are always on board.
The original LifeCard used an aluminum frame and handle, while the LC1-P swaps in a polymer handle that trims weight and cost without changing the core design. The barrel, bolt, and trigger are still 4140 pre-hardened steel with a corrosion-resistant Isonite finish. This particular model adds the Sniper Grey color instead of standard black.
There are no traditional sights on this model, just a low, snag-free top profile. With a 2.5 inch barrel it is meant for close range use, and owners report it shoots better than you would expect for something this small. Think of it as a backup and utility pistol rather than a target gun.
