CMMG paired that cartridge with their Dissent MK4 platform, and the result is a genuinely capable long-range carbine that stays light on your shoulder at 7.7 pounds.
The big story here is CMMG's Compact Action. The entire recoil system lives inside the upper receiver, which means no buffer tube hanging off the back. That's what allows the side folding Dissent stock, and folded up, this rifle packs down noticeably shorter than a standard AR for truck storage or a backcountry hunt. The stock itself gives you eight length-of-pull positions, three cheek riser heights, and three QD sling sockets, so getting a solid cheek weld behind a magnified optic takes seconds, not gunsmithing. Up front, a non-reciprocating side charging handle lets you run the bolt without breaking your firing grip or coming off target.
The 16.1 inch barrel is machined from 416 stainless steel with a salt bath nitride finish and a 1:7.5 twist that stabilizes the heavy, high-BC bullets this cartridge was designed around. Threaded 5/8×24 and topped with CMMG's Zeroed muzzle brake, it's ready for a suppressor swap whenever you are. The adjustable gas block is a genuinely useful touch, letting you tune the system for suppressed shooting or dial it in for your preferred hunting or match load. The 15 inch M-LOK handguard with full-length top Picatinny rail gives you plenty of room for a bipod, light, or laser, and the Zeroed 60/90 degree ambidextrous safety rounds out the controls.

The 6mm ARC was built to bridge the gap between those two. It shoots flatter and carries energy much farther than 5.56, staying supersonic well past distances where 5.56 has run out of steam. At the same time, it fits in an AR-15 sized action, so you get performance close to .243 or .308 without lugging around a heavier large-frame rifle. It's a strong pick for deer-sized game and steel out to 1,000 yards.

It ships with two 10-round magazines and runs on 6mm ARC pattern mags, which share the same case head family as 6.5 Grendel. Standard 5.56 AR-15 magazines won't feed this cartridge reliably, so stick with mags built for 6mm ARC or Grendel. The good news is they fit any standard AR-15 magazine well, including this one.
