The Diamondback DB10 Carbon trims the classic AR-10 platform down to a 13.5 inch barrel and hangs an SB Tactical SBA3 adjustable brace off the back, giving you a large-frame pistol that comes in around 5.1 pounds and roughly 30 inches overall. That is light and short enough to move through tight spots or ride in a truck without complaint, while the 7.62 chambering still brings serious energy downrange. Diamondback builds these in the USA around a proven direct impingement system with a mid-length gas setup, which helps take some of the snap out of a short-barreled .308.
The barrel is 4150 chrome moly vanadium with a black nitride finish, a 1:10 twist that stabilizes common .308 bullet weights, and 5/8×24 threading capped with an A2 flash hider, so swapping to a brake or suppressor mount is simple. Both receivers are forged 7075 T-6 aluminum with a hardcoat anodized finish, and the bolt carrier is shot-peened, magnetic particle inspected 8620 steel. The 13 inch free-float M-LOK handguard runs nearly the full length of the barrel, leaving plenty of real estate for lights, bipods, and a solid support hand grip. Diamondback's Carbon Series philosophy is straightforward: give you the features that matter and skip the gimmicks.
Magpul handles the touch points here. The MOE K grip keeps your wrist at a comfortable angle on a compact gun, and the included 20-round Gen M3 PMAG is about as trusted as magazines get in the AR-10 world. The SBA3 brace adjusts across five positions on its receiver extension, so you can tune the length to fit your setup. A standard two-position thumb safety and mil-spec trigger round out a control layout that will feel familiar to anyone who has run an AR. Add a red dot or LPVO up top and this thing is ready for the range, the ranch, or wherever a compact .30 caliber makes sense.
It is a .308 in a 5.1 pound package, so you will feel it more than a full-size rifle, but it is far from unpleasant. The mid-length gas system smooths out the cycling compared to shorter gas setups, and the SBA3 brace gives you a third point of contact to steady things. Swapping the A2 flash hider for a muzzle brake tames it further if you want softer follow-up shots.
Yes. The barrel comes threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard pattern for .30 caliber muzzle devices and suppressor mounts. Just spin off the A2 flash hider and install your mount of choice. Plenty of owners run these suppressed since the 13.5 inch barrel keeps overall length reasonable even with a can attached.
It ships with one 20-round Magpul Gen M3 PMAG but no iron sights or optic. The flat-top Picatinny upper and 13 inch M-LOK handguard give you plenty of mounting options, so plan on adding a red dot, LPVO, or backup irons before your first range trip.
For the most part, yes. The DB10 uses common large-frame AR components, so grips, triggers, charging handles, and .308 PMAGs drop right in. The M-LOK handguard accepts the huge ecosystem of M-LOK rail sections, lights, and bipod mounts. As with any AR-10 pattern gun, double-check fit on handguards and receiver-specific parts since large-frame specs vary a bit between makers.
