Description
The Phoenix started as a passion project of POF-USA founder Frank DeSomma, and when the company finally brought it to production, it turned out to be one of the more distinctive pistol caliber platforms on the market. The 2125 version pairs the 8 inch barreled Phoenix with a Mission First Tactical stabilizer, so you get the full setup in one box instead of piecing it together later. At 17.5 inches overall, it stays compact enough for a truck bag or a tight range stall while still giving 9mm enough barrel to run clean and flat.
What Sets the Phoenix 9mm Apart
Instead of borrowing a standard AR-9 recipe, POF machined the Phoenix with a fully monolithic upper receiver and a billet lower, both cut from aerospace grade aluminum and finished in black anodize. The charging handle sits forward on the side, does not reciprocate, folds flat when not in use, and swaps to either side of the receiver. Controls follow familiar AR patterns with an ambidextrous safety, bolt release, and mag release, so southpaws are covered without any workarounds. The direct blowback action keeps the internals simple and has a long track record of eating whatever 9mm you feed it.
Feeding and Muzzle Control on the Phoenix 2125
The proprietary 35 round magazine uses a curved double stack, single feed body that stacks rounds naturally for reliable feeding, and POF throws in a polymer loader so your thumbs are not wrecked after a few mags. Up front, a two port muzzle brake tames what little movement the 9mm produces, and the 1/2×28 threaded barrel means a suppressor swap takes about a minute. The 1:10 twist stabilizes common bullet weights, and the M-LOK compatible handguard plus adjustable hand stop give you room to set up lights or grips however you like.
Between the capacity, the compact footprint, and the included stabilizer, the Phoenix 2125 makes a strong case as a range gun that pulls double duty for home defense. It is a fun one to run, and the build quality is exactly what people expect from POF.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the POF Phoenix 2125 use Glock magazines?
No, the Phoenix runs on POF's own proprietary 35 round magazine. It uses a curved, double stack, single feed design built specifically for reliable feeding in this platform, and one comes in the box along with a polymer mag loader that makes topping it off a lot easier on your thumbs.
Is the Phoenix 2125 a good suppressor host?
It is one of the better ones in this class. The 8 inch barrel is threaded 1/2×28, so once you spin off the included two port brake you can mount most 9mm cans directly. The direct blowback action runs consistently suppressed, and POF specifically built the Phoenix with suppressed use in mind.
Can left-handed users run the Phoenix comfortably?
Yes, this is one of the most lefty friendly guns in the category. The safety, bolt release, and magazine release are all fully ambidextrous, and the forward mounted charging handle is non-reciprocating, folds flat against the upper, and can be swapped to either side of the receiver.
Does the Phoenix 9mm need a buffer tube to function?
No. The direct blowback system operates entirely without a buffer assembly, which is a big part of how POF kept the gun at 17.5 inches overall. The rear of the receiver features a 1913 Picatinny rail interface, and this 2125 configuration comes with the MFT stabilizer setup already included.
