There is something satisfying about a shotgun that keeps its full-length barrel but drops most of the bulk. That is the whole idea behind the Tokarev TBP 12. By moving the action behind the grip, this bullpup fits an 18.5 inch barrel into a footprint short enough to swing through a doorway or slide behind a truck seat without a fight. The rearward weight balance is a nice bonus too, since most of the mass sits back in your shoulder and the muzzle stays quick on target.
This is a magazine-fed semi-auto running the industry standard T-1919 (MKA 1919) pattern, so the included 5-round mag is just the starting point. Aftermarket options run up to 20-round capacities if you want to keep the reloads infrequent at the range. The 3 inch chamber cycles both 2.75 and 3 inch shells, and the AR-style safety and mag release will feel familiar the moment you pick it up. Up top you get a full-length Picatinny rail with polymer flip-up sights already installed, plus a lower rail section for a light or foregrip. A red dot is a natural pairing here, but the irons will get you on paper right out of the box.
Tokarev includes three Benelli/Mobil pattern chokes (Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder) with a wrench, so you can tighten or open your pattern depending on the load and the job. The impact-resistant polymer furniture comes in OD Green with a built-in recoil pad that takes some sting out of stouter loads. At around 7.8 pounds, it soaks up 12 gauge recoil better than you might expect from a compact platform.

Yes, the 3 inch chamber handles both 2.75 and 3 inch 12 gauge shells. Like most mag-fed semi-auto shotguns, it tends to run most consistently with quality loads in the 1200 fps and up range, so give it a break-in session with a few different loads to find what it likes best.
The ejection port is on the right side, so it is set up primarily for right-handed use. The charging handle can be swapped to either side, which helps lefties run the gun more comfortably, but there is no dedicated left-hand ejection model.
Absolutely. The full-length Picatinny top rail accepts red dots and other optics, and the included polymer flip-up sights fold down out of the way or work as backups. There is also a lower rail for adding a weapon light or foregrip.
