This factory OEM 19-round magazine in 9mm Luger is the extended-capacity option for XD-M and XD-M Elite Compact owners who want more rounds on tap without switching to a full-size pistol. The magazine body is constructed from stainless steel with a high tensile spring steel spring, a polymer follower, and a polymer base plate, all built to the same specs as the magazine that came with your pistol.
What makes this specific model (XDM50191) different from just a standard 19-round XD-M mag is the included X-Tension sleeve. When the extended magazine is seated in your compact grip, there's a natural gap between the grip frame and the magazine's base plate. The black polymer X-Tension sleeve slides over the magazine body and fills that gap flush, giving you a solid, uninterrupted grip surface from top to bottom. This particular sleeve is sized for Backstrap #1 (the small backstrap), so the contours line up correctly with your installed grip panel. If your pistol is currently wearing Backstrap #2 or #3, you'd want the corresponding sleeve number to get a proper match.
For XD-M Elite Compact owners, note that the magwell may need to be removed for proper fitment with the sleeve installed. The backstrap itself is not included with this magazine, only the sleeve.

The magazine will feed and function without the sleeve, but there will be a gap between the bottom of your grip frame and the magazine's base plate. The X-Tension sleeve fills that gap and gives you a continuous, solid grip surface.
