The Allen ULTRX Bionic Fuse in Cement Gray is a do-it-all electronic earmuff that pulls double duty at the range and around the property. You get a Noise Reduction Rating of 22dB backed by ANSI S3.19 testing, so gunshots, mowers, and power tools get knocked down to a safe level while you stay dialed in to what matters. The over-the-head design and rubberized shell hold up to real use, and the whole thing folds down into the headband when it's time to toss it in a bag.
Four hi-gain omnidirectional microphones amplify the sounds you want to hear, like conversation, range commands, or footsteps in the field, then clamp down hard when things get loud. The mics shut off at 82dB in about 0.02 seconds, which keeps a muzzle blast from ever reaching your ears. Allen calls the sound tuning Studio Harmonics, and paired with the dynamic wave compression system, it keeps ambient audio natural instead of tinny.
Bluetooth 5.3 lets you pair a phone in seconds to stream music, catch a podcast, or take hands-free calls without pulling the muffs off. Power comes from an internal 1200mAh USB-C rechargeable lithium battery, so there's no fumbling with AAAs, and the included cord tops it off quick. Folks who wear these for yard work and long range sessions tend to praise how long a charge holds up across multiple days of use.
Comfort is where these earn their keep for all-day wear. The extra-padded headband adjusts wide for hats or larger heads, and the gel-style cushioned ear cups with air-gel cooling help cut down on the sweaty, clamped feeling you get from cheaper muffs after a few hours. Whether you're breaking clays, running a chainsaw, or grinding through a workshop project, the Bionic Fuse keeps your ears protected and your audio flowing.
This model runs on an internal 1200mAh rechargeable lithium battery, so there are no AAAs to swap. It charges through a USB-C port using the included cord. That's a nice upgrade over battery-powered muffs since you just plug it in and go.
A 22dB rating handles most range work well, and the electronic mics cut off loud impulse sounds like gunshots in about 0.02 seconds for added protection. For high-volume indoor sessions or heavier calibers, a lot of folks like to double up with foam plugs underneath. For general outdoor range days, hunting, and property work, the Bionic Fuse holds its own.
Yes. Bluetooth 5.3 pairs quickly with your phone or tablet so you can stream music, listen to podcasts, or take hands-free calls without removing the muffs. The four hi-gain mics still let you hear what's going on around you while your audio plays.
The extra-padded headband and gel-style cushioned ear cups are built for extended sessions, and the air-gel cooling helps cut down on heat buildup. The headband adjusts wide enough to fit over a ball cap or a larger head. They also fold down into the headband, which makes them easy to stash in a range bag.
