CMMG set out to build the most compact personal defense pistol in their lineup, and the 6.5 inch Dissent MkGs is the result. At just 14.7 inches long and 4.9 pounds, this thing tucks into a backpack or truck bag without a second thought, yet it still runs like a full-on AR platform gun. The MkGs lower is forged from 7075-T6 aluminum and feeds from Glock pattern magazines, which is a huge plus since you can find them anywhere and probably already have a stack of them. Two 33 round mags come in the box to get you started.
Straight blowback 9mm guns tend to beat you up with a heavy bolt slamming back and forth. CMMG solved that with their Radial Delayed Blowback Compact Action, which uses a rotating bolt and fixed ejector to slow the action down. The payoff is a lighter bolt carrier, noticeably softer recoil, and reliable cycling across everything from light subsonics to hot defensive loads. Add the Zeroed linear compensator pushing blast and noise forward, and you get a short gun that stays remarkably polite at the range.
Instead of a rear charging handle, the Dissent uses a forward mounted, non-reciprocating side charger on the left side, so you can run the bolt with your support hand while staying on the gun. The ambidextrous Zeroed 60/90 degree safety keeps things quick for lefties and righties alike. CMMG also skipped the mil-spec bang switch entirely and installed a TriggerTech AR-D two stage trigger with a crisp 4 pound break, developed specifically for the Dissent platform. It is a genuinely nice trigger you would normally be buying as an upgrade.
The receivers wear a clean Tungsten gray Cerakote finish over a 4140CM salt bath nitride barrel threaded 1/2×28, so swapping muzzle devices or adding a suppressor is simple. A 5.5 inch M-LOK handguard gives you room for a light or hand stop, and the 1913 Picatinny end cap at the rear accepts slings and other accessories. Flat top rail up top means you pick the optic. Compact, soft shooting, and fed by Glock mags, this one checks a lot of boxes.
The MkGs lower is built around Glock pattern 9mm magazines, and CMMG ships two 33 round mags in the box. That means factory Glock mags and quality aftermarket options like Magpul PMAGs will run in it. It is one of the most practical feeding setups out there since these mags are cheap and available everywhere.

This model ships with a 1913 Picatinny rail end cap at the rear rather than a factory installed brace. That rail interface lets you attach a sling or other accessories of your choosing. It keeps the package as compact as possible right out of the box.
Yes, the barrel is threaded 1/2×28, which is the standard thread pitch for most 9mm suppressors and muzzle devices. Just remove the included Zeroed linear compensator and thread on your can. The Radial Delayed Blowback action also handles subsonic ammo well, making it a solid suppressor host.
