The EVO name stands for Evolution, and this gun really does pick up where the iconic Kobra Carry left off — taking the same reputation for fit, finish, and reliability and packaging it into a 9mm platform that's smaller, lighter, and better suited for daily carry.
The KC9 is chambered in 9mm Luger and built on a single-stack stainless steel Bobtail frame. The slide has been re-engineered from the ground up: shortened to 4 inches, thinned substantially for weight reduction, and given a unique 7-facet custom top cut that's both functional and genuinely sharp-looking. Front and rear serrations give you solid purchase whether you're running a press check or racking in a hurry. At around 34 ounces with an empty magazine, it's not a featherweight, but that stainless mass does an excellent job of soaking up recoil for a 9mm this size. The overall length comes in at 7.5 inches with a slide thickness of just 0.860 inches — slim enough to carry comfortably under a cover garment.

The gun ships with two Ed Brown Performance Magazines with base pad kits included.
Ed Brown recommends 115 or 124 grain 9mm ammunition for the KC9. Heavier 147 grain loads can work but may cause feeding issues depending on overall cartridge length, so they're worth testing carefully before relying on them.
