Description

The Daniel Defense RIS II was developed at the request of United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) for the SOPMOD II program to provide an integrated free‑float M203 solution. The rail integrates the parts necessary to free‑float an M203 without additional components and does not require special tools for mounting. It provides an uninterrupted upper rail platform with Mil‑Spec 1913 Picatinny rails and a robust bolt‑up attachment system. The FDE finish is Mil‑Spec Type III hard coat anodized for corrosion resistance and consistent appearance.

Key Specifications

  • The handguard is made from Aircraft Grade 6061‑T6 Aluminum.
  • It features a free‑floating barrel design for improved accuracy potential.
  • The two‑piece design allows M203 attachment when the lower rail section is removed.
  • A 6‑bolt bolt‑up system securely attaches the handguard to the upper receiver.
  • It uses Grade 8 military specification fasteners.
  • Provides an uninterrupted upper rail platform and Mil‑Spec 1913 Picatinny rails.
  • Finished in Mil‑Spec Type III hard coat anodized (Flat Dark Earth).
  • The internal diameter measures 1.15 inches.
  • The barrel nut is steel for the patented bolt‑up system.
  • Designed for a carbine gas system and configured as a free‑float rail.

Built to the original SOCOM request, the RIS II FSP rail prioritizes modularity and a secure attachment method for mission‑oriented builds. Its integrated M203 compatibility, continuous upper rail and durable Type III finish make it a practical choice for users seeking a rugged, mil‑spec style free‑float handguard for precision‑minded AR configurations.
