More importantly, Shadow Systems' patented multi-footprint optic cut allows direct-to-slide mounting of most popular mini red dots, including the Holosun 507K and Shield RMS, without adapter plates. The green tritium front sight pairs with a blacked-out serrated rear so you're covered in low light whether or not you run an optic.
The frame is where this gun really shines for carry. Shadow Systems wraps aggressive stippling all the way around the grip, including on the extended magazine baseplate, so it stays put in your hand regardless of conditions. The extended beavertail and deeply undercut trigger guard help get your hand high on the grip for better recoil control, and the integrated Picatinny rail means you can mount a compact weapon light without any adapters. The flat-faced trigger breaks at 4.5 to 5 pounds with a crisp wall and tactile reset, which is about as good as a striker-fired carry trigger gets. All internal slide components are machined from billet stainless steel, and the enhanced LCI extractor even has a tactile serration so you can confirm a chambered round by feel in the dark. The CR920X uses the same compact slide and barrel length as the CR920, but pairs it with a longer grip frame that provides full backstrap contact in the palm of your hand. This gives you better control and more comfortable shooting compared to the shorter grip on the base CR920. The slide profile stays slim for concealment, but the grip is closer to what you'd find on a full-size pistol.

The CR920X is designed to fit holsters made for the Glock G43X MOS, which makes holster selection much easier since that's one of the most popular subcompact platforms on the market. A wide range of IWB, OWB, and appendix carry options are available from major holster makers. Diamond-Like Coating is an extremely hard surface treatment applied to the slide that offers excellent resistance to wear, corrosion, and surface scratching. It's harder than standard nitride or Cerakote finishes, which makes it a smart choice for a gun that's going in and out of a holster daily. It also gives the slide a deep, dark appearance that contrasts nicely with the bronze barrel.
The SS-5039 is the 10+1 capacity variant of the CR920X Elite and ships with two 10-round flush-fit magazines. This is the restricted-capacity version of the CR920X platform. Shadow Systems does offer the CR920X Elite in a 15+1 configuration under a different SKU for those in areas where standard-capacity magazines are permitted.
No, the CR920X Elite does not have a manual thumb safety. Like most modern striker-fired carry pistols, it relies on an integrated trigger safety and a drop safety built into the fire control group. This is the standard setup for this type of defensive pistol, and it's the same approach used by Glock, Sig, and most other major polymer striker-fired platforms.
