The Winchester XPR SR flips that around with a genuine left-hand action, left-side bolt, and left-side two-position thumb safety, all chambered in .350 Legend. This is a purpose-built deer rifle for straight-wall country, and the compact 20 inch barrel keeps it quick-handling in a blind, a treestand, or behind the truck seat.
The SR stands for Suppressor Ready, and that 20 inch sporter barrel comes threaded 11/16×24 with a thread protector so you can spin on a can or a muzzle brake without a trip to the gunsmith. The shorter barrel offsets the added length of a suppressor, so a suppressed setup still balances like a normal hunting rifle. The barrel itself starts as solid chromoly bar stock, gets button-rifled with a 1:16 twist that suits .350 Legend bullets well, then is thermally stress-relieved and fully free-floated in the stock. Winchester didn't cut corners here, and it shows on paper.
The M.O.A. Trigger System is the same three-lever design found on Winchester's Model 70, breaking clean with zero take-up, zero creep, and zero overtravel. The bolt body wears a nickel Teflon coating for slick cycling and corrosion resistance, and a bolt unlock button lets you cycle rounds out with the safety engaged. The receiver is machined from solid steel and comes drilled and tapped, so mounting glass is simple.
The matte black polymer stock shrugs off scratches and wet weather, the Perma-Cote metal finish fights rust without throwing glare, and the Inflex Technology recoil pad takes the edge off an already mild-recoiling cartridge. A detachable box magazine, sling swivel studs, and a 40 inch overall length round out a rifle that carries around six and three quarter pounds bare. This is a true left-hand action. The bolt handle sits on the left side and the two-position thumb safety is positioned for your left thumb, so you can run the gun naturally without reaching over the receiver. It mirrors the right-hand XPR in every meaningful way, including the same trigger and detachable magazine.
The .350 Legend version uses 11/16×24 threading rather than the more common 5/8×24, with a .750 inch barrel diameter at the thread shoulder. Make sure your suppressor or brake matches that pitch, or pick up a thread adapter. Winchester ships it with a thread protector installed.
No, it ships without sights. The steel receiver comes drilled and tapped from the factory, so you just need bases or a rail for the XPR pattern and your optic of choice. Most folks pair this rifle with a low to mid power scope since .350 Legend is a 200 yard and in cartridge.
It's a great one, especially where straight-wall cartridges are the go-to. Recoil is mild, ammo is widely available, and it puts deer down reliably inside 200 yards. Paired with this 20 inch barrel and the Inflex recoil pad, it's a very comfortable rifle to shoot, which makes it a solid pick for newer hunters too.
