Griffin Armament built the Dual-Lok 5 to solve the problems that make people leave their suppressor at home. It weighs just 11.8 ounces, adds about 5 inches past the muzzle, and hangs onto your rifle through a taper-lock mounting system that skips the wear-prone teeth and ratchets found on older quick-detach designs. The locking collar engages machined splines on the muzzle device, giving you a rigid, repeatable lockup that returns to the same spot every time you spin it on. That translates to minimal point of impact shift, which matters a lot more than spec-sheet numbers when you're re-zeroing less and shooting more.
The Dual-Lok 5 uses tubeless, laser-welded construction with 17-4 stainless steel and Inconel 718, so it shrugs off heat and hard use, and yes, it's full auto rated. Griffin machines these in their Watertown, Wisconsin facility, and the can carries a rating up to .22-250 with no minimum barrel length restrictions for rifle calibers. Inside, the ECO-FLOW baffle stack pushes gas forward through the suppressor instead of back into your face, so you get noticeably less blowback on gassy AR setups and fewer tuning headaches. The flash-hiding end cap adds tuned gas vents that knock down muzzle flash while helping the baffles do their job on sound.
In the box you get the suppressor, a Dual-Lok Minimalist Brake in 1/2×28 for standard 5.56 barrels, and a Griffin pouch. If you run multiple rifles, Griffin offers a full lineup of Dual-Lok muzzle devices in various thread pitches, so one can covers the whole safe. The black high-temp Cerakote finish holds up to heat cycles and looks right at home on a working rifle.
For AR shooters who want one durable can that mounts fast, holds zero, and keeps gas out of their eyes, the Dual-Lok 5 checks every box. It's backed by Griffin's lifetime warranty with no registration required, which says plenty about how much abuse they expect it to take.
Griffin's testing puts it around 135 dB on an 11.5 inch barrel and 134 dB on a 16 inch barrel, which is solid performance for a can this light and compact. Just as important, the ECO-FLOW baffles and vented end cap cut the gas and concussion you feel at the shooter's position, so it's more pleasant behind the gun than raw numbers suggest.
Instead of ratchet teeth that wear over time, the Dual-Lok system uses a taper lock with a spring-loaded collar that engages splines on the muzzle device. There are effectively 120 lock positions, so the collar always finds a solid engagement point and the can returns to the same position every time. That means a wear-free interface and minimal point of impact shift between removals.
Yes. Griffin puts no minimum barrel length restrictions on Dual-Lok suppressors for rifle calibers, so it's good to go on short 5.56 pistols and SBR-length setups. Longer barrels will extend service life, but the can is rated for hard use either way, including full auto fire.
