This is not just an AR upper slapped on a modified lower. The Mk47 is a purpose-built mid-size platform that uses beefier components than a standard AR15, including CMMG's PowerBolt technology, without ballooning up to the size and weight of an AR10 frame. The result is a carbine that handles the pressure and bolt thrust of 7.62×39 with room to spare while staying right around 7 pounds. The 16.1 inch 4140 chrome moly barrel wears a mid-length gas system, and the muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 with a ZEROED muzzle brake installed so you can swap in your own device whenever the mood strikes.

The Mk47 accepts most conventional AK-pattern magazines, which is a big part of its appeal. The curved AK mag geometry matches the taper of the 7.62×39 cartridge and feeds far more reliably than modified AR magazines. One 30-round Magpul AK PMAG comes in the box, and standard AK PMAGs are inexpensive and easy to find.
No, this rifle ships without iron sights or an optic. The upper receiver has a full-length Picatinny rail, so you can mount a red dot, LPVO, or backup irons however you like. Most buyers pair it with a red dot or a 1-6x scope since the 7.62×39 cartridge shines inside 300 yards.
