Description
There's a reason the Banshee name carries so much weight in the PCC world. The CMMG Banshee MkGs takes everything people love about the AR platform and shrinks it into a 9mm pistol with a 5-inch barrel and an overall length of just 20.8 inches. The MkGs part matters too: instead of proprietary or Colt-pattern mags, this one runs the double-stack Glock-pattern magazines half the shooting world already owns, and it ships with a 33-rounder in the box. If you have a drawer full of Glock mags at home, you're already stocked up.
Radial Delayed Blowback Makes the Banshee MkGs a Soft Shooter
Most compact 9mm ARs use straight blowback, which means a heavy bolt slamming back and forth with every shot. CMMG went a different route. Their Radial Delayed Blowback system uses a rotating bolt to delay the action, cutting bolt weight and taking a lot of the snap out of the recoil impulse. Range reports back this up consistently, with plenty of owners saying it shoots noticeably softer than other 9mm carbines and pistols they've run. This version also uses CMMG's fixed ejector design for consistent, reliable ejection round after round.
Built Out Right From the Factory
CMMG didn't skimp on the small parts. You get the Zeroed single-stage drop-in trigger, ambidextrous 60/90 degree safety, ambi charging handle, and a Zeroed linear compensator on the 1/2×28 threaded muzzle that pushes blast forward and helps keep the muzzle flat. The 4140 chrome moly barrel wears a Satin Black Cerakote finish, and the receivers are done up in Armor Black Cerakote. The EML handguard gives you M-LOK real estate along the sides and bottom plus a Picatinny top rail, and the six-position RipBrace extends with a quick pull. At 4.9 pounds, it stays light enough to handle one-handed if you need to.
Setting Up Your Banshee 9mm
The flat top rail comes optics ready, so plan on adding a red dot before your first range trip. Add a light, a sling, and a suppressor if you have one, since the threaded barrel and delayed blowback system make this thing an excellent suppressor host. Whether it's home defense, truck duty, or just burning through range ammo on a Saturday, this one earns its spot.

Frequently Asked Questions
What magazines does the CMMG Banshee MkGs use?
The MkGs platform is built around double-stack, Glock-pattern 9mm magazines, which are some of the most common and affordable mags on the market. It ships with one 33-round magazine, and standard Glock 17 and 19 style mags will run in it as well. If you already own Glock pistols, your existing mags pull double duty here.
How does the recoil compare to other 9mm AR pistols?
This is where the Banshee really separates itself. Instead of the heavy straight blowback action most 9mm ARs use, CMMG's Radial Delayed Blowback system uses a rotating bolt to slow the action, which allows a lighter bolt and a much softer recoil impulse. Owners regularly report it shoots smoother than comparable 9mm carbines and pistols, which makes fast follow-up shots easy.
Is the Banshee MkGs a good suppressor host?
Yes, it's one of the better 9mm hosts out there. The 5-inch barrel is threaded 1/2×28, and the delayed blowback action tends to run cleaner and softer suppressed than straight blowback guns. Just remove the included Zeroed linear compensator and thread on your can.
Does the CMMG Banshee MkGs come with sights?
No, it ships optics ready with a Picatinny top rail and no iron sights installed. Most owners drop a compact red dot on it, which pairs perfectly with a gun this size. Backup irons or a magnifier are easy additions with all the rail space available.
