Description
The Super Modular Rail (SMR) MK8 from Geissele Automatics is a 13.5-inch free-floating handguard designed for AR-platform rifles. It was one of the early rails to adopt Magpul’s M-LOK system and provides modular mounting at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions as well as the upper 45-degree quadrants. The rail design emphasizes rigidity while reducing weight through extensive venting, particularly at the lower 45-degree quadrants for heat dissipation. Geissele’s proprietary 2.25″ long barrel nut increases contact surface with the receiver to help maintain straightness and repeatable zero during disassembly and reassembly.
Key Specifications
