Anyone running a SilencerCo can with an ASR mount knows the drill: the more hosts you set up with ASR muzzle devices, the easier life gets. This flash hider is the 9mm piece of that puzzle, threading onto 1/2×28 barrels found on the CZ Scorpion and plenty of aftermarket pistol caliber carbine barrels. Once it's installed, moving your suppressor from one gun to the next is a simple one hand on, one hand off operation. No wrenches, no fuss, just spin the can on and let the locking ring do its job.
The ASR (Active Spring Retention) system is one of the better quick attach setups out there, and the locking ring is a big reason why. Once the suppressor is seated, it holds tight through long strings of fire without loosening or rotating, so your point of impact stays consistent. And when you don't have a can mounted, the three prong design does real work cutting down visible muzzle flash, which your eyes will appreciate during low light shooting.
Three prong flash hiders have a reputation for that annoying tuning fork ring after each shot. SilencerCo tackled that head on with a resonance suppression design that kills the ringing, so you get the flash reduction benefits of a pronged hider without sounding like a dinner bell at the range.
This is the AC1570 model, machined from steel and wearing a matte black finish that blends in with just about any host gun. It measures right around 2.5 inches long and adds minimal weight to the muzzle. If you're building out a suppressed 9mm setup or adding another host to your ASR rotation, this is a straightforward, well made mount that does exactly what it should. Just double check that your barrel is threaded 1/2×28 before ordering, since SilencerCo also makes this hider in a 1/2×36 version for factory Scorpion barrels.
It pairs with any SilencerCo suppressor running an ASR (Active Spring Retention) mount, which covers most of their centerfire lineup including the Omega 36M, Hybrid 46, and Chimera when equipped with the ASR mount. The suppressor spins on over the flash hider and the locking ring keeps it from rotating or backing off during heavy fire.
It depends on your barrel threads. This 1/2×28 version fits newer Scorpion barrels and most aftermarket 9mm barrels with that thread pitch. Older factory Scorpion barrels are often threaded 1/2×36, and SilencerCo makes a separate ASR Flash Hider (AC1562) for those. Check your barrel threading before you buy.
No, and that's one of its best features. SilencerCo built resonance suppression into the design that eliminates the tuning fork ping that a lot of competing three prong flash hiders make after each shot. You get the flash reduction without the annoying chime.
Absolutely. On its own it works as a capable flash hider, cutting down visible muzzle flash to protect your vision in low light. Plenty of folks install ASR muzzle devices on several hosts so any gun in the safe is ready to accept the can when they want it.
