It is chambered for .223 Rem/5.56 NATO and uses a carbine-length gas system for consistent cycling and reduced perceived recoil. The MFR 10.0 M-LOK handguard delivers weight savings, cooling, and modularity while retaining an uninterrupted 1913 Picatinny rail on top for sights and optics. An ambidextrous GRIP-N-RIP charging handle includes anti-gas features for suppressed-fire use, and the upper ships with an M16 profile bolt carrier group.
