Description

The MFT Extreme Duty is engineered to handle the abuse that regular magazines might not survive. Whether you're dropping it on pavement, running it hard at the range, or just cycling rounds over years of use, this magazine uses next-generation long glass fiber polymer construction that's 50 percent stronger than standard glass-filled nylon and offers three times the impact resistance.

What Makes the MFT Extreme Duty Different

The polymer body won't stay bent after impact the way aluminum does. If you accidentally drop a loaded mag or catch it against a wall during a reload, it'll flex and return to shape. That means you keep feeding rounds reliably instead of dealing with a permanently warped magazine that causes malfunctions. The lower half of the magazine is thicker for added rigidity, keeping the internal geometry stable even during extended use.

Practical Features Built for Real Handling

The ribbed front and rear surfaces give you a solid grip with or without gloves, making mag changes faster when it matters. The oversized bolt catch catches the bolt hold-open reliably on every empty reload, so you get consistent feedback that your magazine is empty. The flared floor plate makes it easier to grab and pull magazines from tight pouches or your carrier, and it includes a paint pen dot matrix on the base so you can mark individual magazines for tracking during training or inventory.

Internally, you're getting a long-life USGI-spec stainless steel spring paired with a four-way anti-tilt self-lubricating follower that ensures rounds feed straight into the chamber every time. The tool-less disassembly with double safety release tabs means you can break it down for cleaning without any tools, just two small button presses on the bottom. The magazines in this Utah graphic variant hold 30 rounds of 5.56 NATO or .223 Remington and work with AR-15 and M4 platforms as well as a wide range of non-AR pattern rifles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this MFT magazine work with my non-AR platform rifle?

Yes. While it's designed around the AR-15/M4 pattern, the Extreme Duty magazine is built to work with a wide range of non-AR platforms as well. Just make sure your rifle uses standard STANAG 5.56 NATO magazines. Always verify compatibility with your specific firearm before purchase.

What makes the polymer construction better than aluminum?

The next-generation long glass fiber polymer resists impact three times better than traditional construction and flexes back to shape after being dropped or bent, whereas aluminum magazines stay deformed. The thicker lower half also adds rigidity for consistent internal geometry. This means fewer jams and more reliable feeding over the magazine's lifetime.

Can I load it completely full with 30 rounds?

Yes. MFT magazines have slightly more capacity tolerance than some competitors, which is why they're designed to handle a full 30 rounds with enough clearance to seat reliably on a closed bolt. This eliminates the military practice of loading only 28 rounds to ensure magazine insertion on a closed bolt.

How do I disassemble this magazine for cleaning?

The Extreme Duty features tool-less disassembly with two safety release tabs on the bottom of the floor plate. Press both tabs at the same time and the floor plate drops down, allowing you to access the spring and follower. You don't need any tools, though a pen tip or round can make it slightly easier if your fingers are thick.
