The SKS is one of the great budget rifles, but that classic wood and steel setup was never built for red dots, lights, or a comfortable length of pull. The ATI Strikeforce TactLite Gen2 fixes all of that in one drop-in package. It swaps your factory furniture for a six-position collapsible buttstock, a textured X1-style pistol grip, and a forend loaded with rail space, taking a rifle designed in the 1940s and bringing it fully up to date.
The buttstock runs on ATI's TracLOCK system, which locks out horizontal and vertical wobble on the buffer tube so you get solid, rattle-free adjustments without a secondary lock. Dial in your length of pull across six positions, then fine-tune your cheek weld with the removable, adjustable cheekrest for a repeatable sight picture. The X Series thin recoil pad and X1 grip work together to soak up felt recoil and keep muzzle lift down, so follow-up shots come faster and longer range sessions stay comfortable.
The stock side-folds to the left of the receiver for compact storage and transport, and here's the good part: you can still fire the rifle with it folded. The forend gives you four forward Picatinny rail locations plus a 4-inch rail, so there's room for a weapon light, laser, foregrip, or optic without hunting for adapters. Dual-sided QD sling attachment points and a slot for a tactical sling round out the carry options.
Construction is DuPont extreme-temperature glass-reinforced polymer over metal reinforcement, so it stands up to chemicals, heat, cold, and general abuse. Fitment covers most SKS rifles, though the blade bayonet has to come off first and a small amount of trimming is common depending on your rifle's variant. It's made in the USA and backed by ATI's limited lifetime warranty, which is a nice safety net on a part you'll be shooting for years.
It's designed to fit most SKS rifles regardless of the country of origin. You'll need to remove the blade bayonet before installing, and depending on your specific variant a little minor trimming or dremel work near the receiver is sometimes needed to get a tight fit. Once it's on, the TracLOCK system keeps everything solid with no rattle.
