The buffer tube has always been the one thing keeping AR pistols from folding down flat. CMMG solved that with the Dissent MK4. Their patent pending Compact Action tucks the entire recoil system inside the upper receiver, so the back of the gun ends in a clean 1913 Picatinny rail plate instead of a receiver extension. Mount the folding attachment you like, fold it flat, and suddenly a 300 Blackout AR fits in bags and cases that would never swallow a conventional build.
300 Blackout was designed to burn its powder in short barrels, and 10.5 inches is right in the cartridge's sweet spot. Supersonic loads get nearly everything they have to give, and subsonics run quiet and smooth with a can up front. The 4140CM barrel wears a salt bath nitride finish, spins bullets on a 1:7 twist, and comes threaded 5/8×24 behind CMMG's Zeroed linear compensator, which sends blast forward instead of back at you. The adjustable gas block is the real workhorse here. Dial it down for suppressed subsonics or open it up for full power ammo, and the gun stays soft and clean either way.
CMMG partnered with TriggerTech on the AR-D trigger, a crisp two stage unit with a light, repeatable break around 4 pounds that feels miles better than a standard mil-spec bang switch. The forward mounted, non-reciprocating side charger can be swapped for left or right handed use, and the ambidextrous controls keep everything familiar for AR guys. A 9.6 inch M-LOK handguard with a full length top rail handles lights, optics, and hand stops, while the 7075-T6 aluminum receivers wear a Midnight Bronze Cerakote finish that looks sharp and shrugs off wear.
Two 30 round magazines come in the box, and CMMG backs the whole thing with their Lifetime Quality Guarantee. For a do-it-all 300 Blackout that packs down smaller than anything else in the safe, this one is tough to beat.

Yes, and this is where the platform really shines. The adjustable gas block lets you tune the gas system for subsonic loads with a suppressor attached, then open it back up for supersonic ammo. The bufferless design also cuts down on gas blowback to your face when running a can, which is a common complaint with standard ARs.
The Dissent MK4 ships with a TriggerTech AR-D two stage trigger that was developed specifically for this platform, with a crisp break around 4 pounds. CMMG tuned the Compact Action around this trigger and does not guarantee reliable function with mil-spec or other aftermarket triggers, so it's best to stick with the AR-D. The good news is it's a genuinely excellent trigger out of the box.
It feeds from standard AR-15 pattern magazines, so your existing mags will work as long as they run 300 Blackout reliably. Two 30-round magazines come included from CMMG, giving you a 30 plus 1 capacity right out of the box.
