Description
North American Arms took the two most requested features from its Magnum-frame lineup and rolled them into one gun. The Sentinel borrows its squared-off Pug-style barrel and deep-concealment profile from the Pug, then adds the swing-out cylinder people loved on the Sidewinder. The result is a 5-shot .22 WMR mini revolver you can reload without pulling the cylinder pin and taking the whole gun apart, which anyone who has owned an older NAA mini will appreciate.
Sentinel Size and Build
This thing is genuinely tiny. It measures 4.9 inches long, 2.8 inches tall, and tips the scale around 6.7 ounces unloaded, so it rides in a pocket, belly band, or ankle rig without printing or dragging. Despite the size, it is machined from 17-4 stainless steel throughout, including the cylinder and the 1.4 inch squared barrel, so it shrugs off sweat and pocket lint far better than a carbon steel gun of the same footprint. Pebble-textured black rubber grips help anchor it in your hand, and the oversized textured ejector head makes punching out spent magnum cases quick and positive.
Real Sights on a Mini Revolver
Most guns this small give you a nub of a front sight and not much else. The Sentinel wears a dovetailed XS white dot up front paired with an express-style V-notch rear, a setup that is fast to pick up and drift adjustable. Combined with the single-action trigger, it makes hitting at defensive distances far more realistic than the old bead-and-groove arrangement.
Why the NAA Sentinel Earns Pocket Space
As a backup gun or a carry option for days when nothing bigger works with your clothing, the Sentinel fills a role almost nothing else can. With modern .22 WMR defensive loads on shelves and NAA's long track record building these little five-guns in Provo, Utah, it is a purpose-built piece of insurance that also happens to be a lot of fun to own. Grips and holsters made for existing NAA models fit it too, so accessorizing is easy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the NAA Sentinel also fire .22 LR ammunition?
Not this version. The standard Sentinel is chambered for .22 WMR only. NAA does offer a separate Sentinel Conversion model that ships with an extra .22 LR cylinder for cheaper practice, so if you want both calibers, look for that configuration.
How does the swing-out cylinder work compared to older NAA minis?
Classic NAA mini revolvers require you to pull the cylinder pin and remove the cylinder entirely to load and unload, which is slow and fiddly. The Sentinel's cylinder swings out to the side like a full-size revolver, and the oversized textured ejector head pushes out spent cases. It makes reloads noticeably faster and simpler.
Is the Sentinel practical for concealed carry or is it more of a novelty?
It works well as a deep-concealment or backup gun for situations where nothing larger will fit, like gym shorts or a swimsuit pocket. At 4.9 inches long and under 7 ounces, it disappears in a pocket holster or belly band. Like any mini revolver, it takes dedicated practice to shoot well, so plan on range time with it.
What sights come on the NAA Sentinel?
It wears genuine XS Sights, with a dovetailed white dot front and a low-profile express V-notch rear that can be drifted for windage. That is a serious sighting setup for a gun this small, and much easier to pick up quickly than the simple bead found on standard NAA minis.
