The R3D from XS Sights is built around one simple idea: keep your eye locked on the front sight. That green front dot pairs a tritium lamp with XS's Ember Glow Dot photoluminescent element, so it grabs ambient light during the day and glows on its own once things get dark. The result is a front reference that reads bright and high-contrast in daylight and stays lit through the night with zero batteries to worry about.
The rear is a blacked-out two-dot tritium setup, and that's intentional. XS runs a brighter tritium vial up front and a wider rear notch (0.170 inches against a 0.145-inch front blade) so your eye naturally settles on the front post instead of getting lost between three matching dots. In practice that means faster indexing and cleaner alignment when seconds matter, whether you're on the range or in a low-light situation. The rear also has a ledge you can hook on a belt or boot heel for one-handed slide manipulations.
These are CNC machined from solid steel bar stock at XS's shop in Fort Worth, Texas. Steel holds up to drops, racking off a barricade, and years of everyday carry in a way polymer sights just won't. The tritium carries a 12-year illumination warranty, so you get a long service life out of the glow before it starts to fade.

Worth noting up front: they are not made for the SFx Rival series or the Mete series, so double-check your exact model before ordering. Installation is straightforward with a sight pusher or a hammer and punch, and XS provides written instructions and an install video if you'd rather do it yourself. If you're not comfortable driving dovetail sights, any gunsmith can knock this out in a few minutes.
