The Aero Precision Ultralight Scope Mount is built for folks who want their optic mounted rock-solid without hauling around a pound of aluminum on top of the receiver. This is a true one-piece combo, meaning the 1" rings are machined right into the base rather than bolted on, which cuts down on parts, weight, and potential slop. The whole unit tips the scales at right around 3 oz, putting it among the lightest one-piece mounts you'll find for the AR platform.
Aero went with CNC-machined 6061-T6 extruded aluminum and a Type III hard-coat black anodized finish, so it holds up to the bumps and keeps a clean look that blends in with most mil-spec receivers. The clamp locks onto any Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny rail, and a cross-slot keyway digs into the rail to keep the mount from walking under recoil. The rings themselves use a vertical split design with the clamping screws on the side instead of the top, which gives you even pressure around the scope tube when you snug everything down.
This is the Standard profile, so the rear ring sits in the normal position with zero forward relief, and the optic centerline lands at 1.5" above the rail. That height clears most 42mm and 50mm objectives and plays nice with standard A2 and collapsible stocks without needing a cheek riser. One thing worth doing before you order is measuring the mountable tube length on your scope, since some shorter-bodied 1" optics don't give you enough real estate between the rings.
Ring and base screws torque to 15 in-lbs, and a dab of non-permanent thread locker is a smart move to keep things put. Aero backs this mount with a limited lifetime warranty, and it's made right here in the USA. For a lightweight hunting or range build where every ounce counts, it's tough to beat.
This version is built for optics with a 1" main tube. Aero also makes the Ultralight in a 30mm version under a different part number, so double-check your scope's tube diameter before ordering to make sure you grab the right one.
The centerline sits at 1.5" measured from the top of the rail to the center of the optic. That height clears most 42mm and 50mm objective lenses and works with standard A2 or collapsible stocks without a cheek riser.
It clamps to any Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny rail and is designed for AR-type upper receivers. The cross-slot keyway seats into the rail to help lock the mount in place and keep it from shifting under recoil.
Aero spec's 15 in-lbs on both the ring and base screws. A small amount of non-permanent thread locker on the base screws is a good idea to keep everything secure over time, and a quality torque wrench takes the guesswork out of it.
