The Arsenal SAM7K-28P takes the legendary Krinkov-style AK and builds it the way it ought to be built. This is a 7.62×39 short-barreled rifle running an 8.5" cold hammer forged, chrome lined barrel with a threaded front sight block in the standard Krink 24×1.5mm RH configuration. The plum furniture, including the handguards, pistol grip, and buttstock, gives it that classic deep purple-brown look that collectors have always loved, all color matched right out of the box.
The heart of this rifle is Arsenal's milled receiver, and it's the real deal. Each one starts as a hot-die hammer forged blank produced by Arsenal Co. of Bulgaria, then gets milled down with hours of machine work. That forging process produces stronger, finer-grained steel and eliminates the internal voids and cooling deformations you'd find in receivers cut from plain bar stock. The result is a platform with the kind of strength and tight tolerances that make the SAM7K one of the most respected AKs you can buy.
This is where the -28 configuration earns its name. The buttstock is CNC machined from a single piece of aluminum and mounts to the rear of the receiver through a 1913 Picatinny attachment interface. It's lighter and stronger thanks to strategic cutouts, and it carries an ambidextrous cheek weld groove machined into both sides for a consistent sight picture no matter how you shoulder it. Four non-rotating QD sling ports and a rubber buttpad round out a stock that's genuinely built to last.
Arsenal drops in a FIME enhanced fire control group, so the trigger feels cleaner than your average AK right from the factory. With an overall length around 27 inches, a 1:9.44 twist, and four-groove rifling, this short little 7.62×39 is punchy, controllable, and a blast to run. It ships with a 10-round magazine and the usual Arsenal kit to keep it maintained for the long haul.
Yes. The SAM7K-28P has a threaded front sight block in the standard Krink configuration with 24×1.5mm RH threads. It ships with a thread protector installed, so you can run it bare or swap on a compatible muzzle device down the road.
Each SAM7K receiver is milled from a hot-die hammer forged blank made by Arsenal Co. of Bulgaria. The forging process produces stronger, finer-grained steel and removes internal voids and cooling deformations that bar stock receivers can have. That extra material and machining give the SAM7K a reputation for exceptional strength and tight tolerances.
The CNC machined aluminum tactical buttstock mounts to the rear of the receiver through a 1913 Picatinny attachment interface. It features an ambidextrous cheek rest machined into both sides, four non-rotating QD sling ports, and a rubber buttpad. The single-piece aluminum design keeps it light without giving up strength.
The rifle ships with one color matched 10-round magazine, the FIME enhanced fire control group already installed, a sling, cleaning kit, cleaning rod, oil bottle, and a thread protector. Arsenal also packs it in a hard case for safe transport and storage.
