The mount runs a force-to-overcome mechanism, so the magnifier stays put where you leave it until you give it a purposeful push. Flip it up and it locks into the centerline behind your optic for a quick jump to 3x magnification. Flip it down and it drops out of the way. The whole thing rides on Unity's FAST platform, which sets your optical centerline at 2.26 inches.
