ARCA has become the go-to standard for getting a rifle locked into a tripod or ARCA-style bipod, and MDT built this Bolt On Arca Swiss Rail to bring that capability to their popular chassis lineup. It's a 6-inch dovetail machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in a mil-spec Type III hard-black anodized coating, so it takes repeated recoil and handling without complaint. Because the dovetail is machined and checked to the Really Right Stuff (RRS) standard, it plays nicely with the wide world of ARCA clamps, tripod heads, and accessory adapters out there.
This one attaches through the Magpul MOE spaced and tapped holes found on the underside of chassis forends, which makes it a natural fit for the MDT LSS, HS3, TAC21 (non M-LOK), LSS-22, and the discontinued LSS-XL. It bolts down solid rather than clamping into slots, so once it's torqued in place it isn't going anywhere. If your chassis uses that MOE hole pattern, installation is about as straightforward as it gets.
The flat 6-inch run gives you infinite adjustment, so you can slide your tripod clamp or ARCA bipod exactly where you want it for balance and stability. There are 26 drilled and tapped holes along the rail that let you index accessories to the same spot every time, which keeps your setup consistent from range trip to range trip. A rearward overhang lets you mount closer to the rifle's center of gravity, the angled front surface makes dropping into a tripod clamp easier and cuts down on snagging, and the rounded edges keep it comfortable in the hand when you're shooting standing or off awkward support.
For precision and long-range work where you're constantly adapting to terrain, having a real ARCA surface on the bottom of your rifle changes how fast you can get steady. This is a clean, no-nonsense way to add that to a compatible MDT chassis.
It's made to attach through the Magpul MOE spaced and tapped holes found on the MDT LSS, HS3, TAC21 (non M-LOK), LSS-22, and the discontinued LSS-XL. If your chassis or forend uses that MOE hole pattern, this rail bolts right up. It will not attach to a standard M-LOK slotted handguard, since it mounts via threaded MOE holes rather than M-LOK slots.
