This is LaRue's big-bore MGU (Match Grade Upper) chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, a round that earned its reputation by staying flat, bucking wind, and hitting steel well past 800 yards. The idea here is simple: bolt it to your LaRue pattern lower, mount a magnified optic, feed it match ammo or your own handloads, and go shoot tight groups.
At the heart of this upper is a 22" match grade barrel with a 1:8 twist, which is the sweet spot for the heavier, high-BC 6.5 bullets that make this cartridge sing. It runs an extended length gas system for smooth, consistent cycling, a .750" gas block journal, and a 5/8×24 threaded muzzle wearing an A2 flash hider. LaRue rates the barrel life at around 10,000 rounds, so you've got a lot of trigger time ahead before you start thinking about a rebarrel.
The upper rides a 14.5" free-float M-LOK handguard that gives you a slim, rigid platform for bipods, lights, and sling hardware without choking the barrel. Everything is CNC-machined from aluminum and wears a hardcoat anodized black finish, with a continuous Picatinny top rail for your optic. The free-float design keeps anything you hang off the rail from touching the barrel, which is a big part of how this thing holds its accuracy.
