Description
The Ruger RXM is the full-size result of Ruger and Magpul putting their heads together, and this version adds a blue PVD slide that really sets it apart on the rack. Built around a serialized stainless steel Fire Control Insert that drops into a Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip, the RXM lets you change the feel of the gun without changing the serialized part. It feeds from two Magpul PMAG 17 GL9 magazines for 17+1 on tap, rides a 4.5-inch precision rifled alloy steel barrel with a tough FNC nitride finish, and keeps the whole package at a manageable 23.6 ounces.
What Sets the Ruger RXM Apart
The grip is where this pistol earns its keep. The Magpul EHG uses a 3/4-scale TSP texture that grabs without chewing up your hands or clothing, and it adds a flared magazine well for fast reloads, a trigger guard undercut and beavertail for a high grip, and a magazine release scallop so your thumb finds the button every time. A universal accessory rail up front takes lights and lasers. Up top you get a flat-faced trigger with a smooth pull and a tactile reset, plus an extended magazine release and raised slide stop.
Sights and Optic Mounting on the RXM
The RXM ships with co-witness-height steel sights, including a tritium front night sight that lights up in the dark and shows a clean sight picture day or night. The slide is cut for direct mounting of RMR, Delta Point Pro, and RMSc pattern optics, so you can run irons now and add a red dot down the road and still co-witness through it.
A Familiar Platform With Fresh Ideas
Because the RXM is built on the Gen 3 Glock 19 pattern, most major components are designed to work with off-the-shelf parts, holsters, and accessories, which makes setup painless if you already live in that ecosystem. Safety comes from an integrated trigger safety and an internal striker blocker, and a loaded chamber inspection port lets you confirm a round at a glance. For anyone who wants a proven layout with modern modularity and a slide finish that actually turns heads, the RXM covers a lot of ground.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Ruger RXM optic ready?
Yes. The RXM slide is cut for direct mounting of RMR, Delta Point Pro, and RMSc pattern optics, so you can mount a red dot without an adapter plate. The steel sights are co-witness height, meaning your irons line up through a mounted optic for a backup sight picture.
What magazines does the RXM 19551 use and how many come with it?
This full-size RXM ships with two Magpul PMAG 17 GL9 magazines that hold 17 rounds each, giving you 17+1 loaded. Since the RXM is built on the Gen 3 Glock 19 pattern, it also runs standard Glock-pattern 9mm magazines, so finding spares is easy.
What makes the Fire Control Insert on the RXM special?
The RXM uses a removable, serialized stainless steel Fire Control Insert that sits inside the Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip. That means the serialized part is the FCI, not the grip, so you can swap the grip module to change the feel without changing the registered component. It is a similar concept to the fire control units found on SIG's modular pistols.
Does this RXM have a tritium night sight?
It does on the front. The RXM comes with a tritium co-witness-height front sight that glows in low light for a clear sight picture day or night, paired with a steel drift-adjustable rear sight. The rear is a standard notch and does not have a tritium insert.
